We believe and by experience, it is proven fact, that in the Sri Lankan context parents are always looking out for well educated, veterans and reputed people who are actively engaged in the education sector in Sri Lanka to advice their students’ future endeavors. Furthermore, professionals with some experience in the Australian education system who have lived in Australia are highly regarded and recognized by parents before they send their students to Australia for their higher education.
In this context, we are very happy to say, we have with us our Chairman / Managing Director of the EmpiricalMinds , Dr Prasanna Lokuge with over twenty-five years ICT experience in high growth public and private sector organizations both in Sri Lanka and abroad, completed his B.Sc. and obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Technology and M.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Colombo. He thereafter obtained his PhD from Monash University, Australia specializing in Artificial Intelligent Agents.
Dr. Lokuge was awarded the ‘Gold Medal’ for becoming the ‘Batch Top’ of the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Technology in 1993 from University of Colombo, and has also received the Postgraduate Publication Award from the Monash University in 2004 and an Australian Postgraduate Award in 2005.
In academia, he has worked as a Lecturer at the Monash University and Senior Lecturer / Lead lecturer at the Central Queensland University, Australia. He has also worked as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of IT, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Dr. Lokuge has to his credit many book chapters and research papers published in international journals and conferences.
Dr. Prasanna Lokuge has held many key positions in many national and international business organizations in a career spanning over 25 years in the ICT industry. Experience in key positions includes CIO/Consultant in Hong Kong, France, Malaysia, Vietnam, Korea, China, Australia and Sri Lanka. IT Consultant for World Bank and ADB funded projects in Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Director IT - Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Chairman / Managing Director – EmpiricalMinds Pvt Ltd.
He is a chartered member of the British Computer Society (BCS), UK and is a member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Computer Society of Sri Lanka. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), USA and a Professional Project Manager (PMP). He has also served as a Board Director of the Project Management Institute, USA – Sri Lankan Chapter.
